Executive Board
President: Darren Guidry, '84, '92 BS in Finance, MBA – Darren is the Chief Lending Officer for Home Bank. His involvement in the community includes serving as Area Commissioner, U5-U12 Girls soccer coach for 12 years, Acadian Home Builders Association Board Member and Alumni Association volunteer. He has been involved with the Spring Gala as auction committee chair. He and his family are members of St. Mary’s Church where he serves as a Lector and Eucharistic minister. He is the father of Garrett (20), Grant (18), Kristen (13) and Caroline (9). His wife Michelle is also a graduate of UL, ‘84-Business, ‘87-Education. Email Darren
President Elect: Robbie Bush, '76 BA in English in 1976—Robbie is the owner of Associated Travel Group. His civic associations include Lafayette Kiwanis Club, Lafayette Area Association of Travel Agents, Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Lafayette Class 16, board member with Lafayette Education Foundation, chairman of National Amadeus Automation Committee, and a member of the 2008 Class of Leadership Louisiana. Robbie and his wife Julie (’72 BA in Music) have two children, Brian and Emily.

Vice President of Clubs & Chapters: Dr. Michael Judice, '77 Dr. Michael K. Judice recieved his Bachelor of Science degree in 1977, majoring in Biology and Chemistry. Michael is a respected pediatrician and dedicated to his profession. He has served as an elected Alumni Council member for the past three years having served on the Awards and Scholarship committees and representing the Alumni Association as a commencement speaker. He and his family are avid UL and Ragin' Cajuns supporters with season tickets to all major sports. He is active in the commmunity as well and enjoys memberships in the Krewe of Gabriel and Krewe of Bonaparte, serving as their king, Napoleon XXXI, for Mardi Gras 2007. He and his wife, Maureen, have three children, Adam, Trevor and Katy.

Vice President of Community Affairs: Margaret Trahan, '75 Margaret Trahan received a B.A. in Education from UL in 1975 and taught in the public schools for ten years. Currently she is the President/CEO of United Way of Acadiana. Active in the community, she has served on the UL Lafayette Alumni Council since 2003 and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Leadership Lafayette, and the Volunteer Technical Panel for I-49. She is treasurer and a board member of Louisiana VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster). She also serves on the national Community Advisory Board for Chase Bank. She is a board member of the Louisiana Association of United Ways (past president and treasurer) and a member of the Planned Giving Council of Acadiana and the Association of Fund-Raising Professionals. She is a 2008 member of the class of Leadership Louisiana and a 1992 graduate of Leadership Lafayette. She is married to Keith (UL grad 1975) and they are the parents to Deaton (UL grad 2001), Robin (UL grad 2002) and Adam. Email Margaret
Vice President of Facilities: Jim Slatten, '80 BA in Liberal Arts in 1980 and a JD and MBA from Tulane University. Jim began his career clerking for U.S. District Court Judge Henry Mentz. He then practiced corporate law in Lafayette from 1985 through 1997 at Gordon Arata. Jim entered the petroleum exploration and production business in 1997, and is presently Vice President-Corporate Affairs at Darcy Energy, Ltd.. He has been a member of the Alumni Council since 2001, and in 2005 he was named to the Alumni Association Executive Board. Jim is an avid Cajun fan, and in 2004, he was selected as the men’s basketball team’s Rabid Red Dot Fan of the Year. Jim has also been an Honorary Cajun Football Coach, having won the honor in the Alumni Association Spring Gala auction. His wife Lise Anne, is also a loyal fan. Email Jim
Vice President of Marketing & Communications: Tom Voinche, Jr., '72 Tom Voinche received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from UL in 1972 and his M.S. in Communication in May, 2009. While a student he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, President of Young Democrats and a member of the Political Science club. He has worked in the news department at KATC TV 3 as co-anchor of "Good Morning Acadiana" for the past 17 years. He is currently an active member of the UL Alumni Association, AlumniCouncil, a Grad Expo volunteer, Red & White day participant and judge for various homecoming events. Active in the community, he has served on the Eunice Chamber of Commerce as president, past member of the Eunice Lion's Club and Eunice Kiwanis Club. Tom lives in Eunice with his wife Bonnie and dog Tater.

Vice President of Membership & Fundraising: Sonny Launey, '68, '69 BS and MS in Civil Engineering – Sonny, a New Orleans native, is a licensed engineer in Louisiana and Texas. His engineering career has been spent with the Air Force, Freeport-McMoRan and currently, with Denson Engineers. Sonny is a past member of Louisiana’s Engineering and Land Surveying Licensing Board and is active with the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors (NCEES) working on the Structural Exams and is Chair of the committee which oversees all of the NCEES engineering exams. He has served the University as the founding College of Engineering Alumni Chapter President, a member of the UL Civil Engineering Advisory Board and is an adjunct professor in Civil Engineering. He and his wife, Sandra, have two sons: Chris (’95) and Patrick and four grandchildren.

Vice President of Special Events: Melanie Martin, ‘72-‘75 A business major at USL, Melanie is well known as a local Community Activist. She has been a member of the Alumni Council and most active with the Spring Gala having served as Auction Committee Chair for several years. A past president of the Jr. League of Lafayette, an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Acadiana, Melanie is also active with numerous civic organizations. Named the 2007 Volunteer of the Year, she was most recently recognized by Faith House as Woman of the Year. She is married to Jimmy and they are the proud parents of one son Max and a grandson.
Vice President of University Relations: Don Landry, '73 BS in Liberal Arts; Juris Doctorate, Southern University – Don is an Attorney with Perrin, Landry, deLauney, Dartez & Ouellet and Assistant District Attorney. He served on the Alumni Council, 2005-2008, and an active member of the Alumni Association. He has been very involved in helping plan the annual Spring Gala and serving on the auction committee. Currently he is the City Attorney for the City of Broussard, Louisiana, the Town Attorney for the Town of Erath, and Prosecutor with the 15th Judicial District Attorney’s office for Lafayette Parish. Don and his wife are members of the Krewe of Carnivale en Rio, the Krewe of Gabriel, and the Krewe of Bonaparte. He is married to Rebecca and their children are James Dansdill, Lance Leger, Tina Derouen, Jason Landry, Jade Landry, and Jonas Landry. Email Don
Immediate Past President: Mary Galyean, ‘80 BA in Radio and Television Broadcasting – Mary is Sales and Marketing Analyst for LUS Fiber. Previously, she worked for over two decades in radio broadcasting in the Lafayette market. Mary graduated Magna Cum Laude from the College of Arts and Humanities, and was the Outstanding Graduate in her College. Mary was also an honors student, served in several positions in student government, and as President of the Union Program Council. She has served on the Alumni Council for several years and is also currently active as a board member for St. Ignatius School, South St. Landry Youth Baseball. Served as President of Boys and Girls Club corporate board, the St. Ignatius School PTC, Big Brother/Big Sisters of Acadiana, American Cancer Society, and March of Dimes. Married to Frank Olivier of Sunset. She is the mother of Allie, Quentin and step mom of Franco.
